I see F4 are selling a Seago vacuum extractor for £29. Has anyone any experience of this brand?
I've got one, a 6 litre sphere shaped one. Does the job ok as far as I'm concerned. The oil does need to be warmed up though.I see F4 are selling a Seago vacuum extractor for £29. Has anyone any experience of this brand?
I saw some 2 litre ones on ebay or amazon today when I was looking for a bit of kit to pump oil into a Honda outboard gearbox.I had one very similar. It worked fine. My only complaint is the amount of space it took up. It's capacity was 6 litres and my engine only held 1.75 litres so a 2 litre pump, had I been able to find one, would have saved some space.
If there were to be a next time, which there won't be, I would buy a little 12v pump and discharge the old oil into one of many old containers you find lying around the waste oil tank in the boat yard.
They are available now but when I bought my extractor pump many years ago, 6 litres was the smallest I could find.I saw some 2 litre ones on ebay or amazon today when I was looking for a bit of kit to pump oil into a Honda outboard gearbox.
I was surprised at how well this little brass pump worked. Had to wear a glove because it got pretty hot.The 6 ltr Spherical are usually the small Pela ... I use one for literally anything to get out .. last bit of water in bilge .. oil .... gunge out of fuel tanks ... etc.
I now also have a Lidl electric pump .. its ok - but the Pela is better ...
Tip : After time - the spring metal pipe - the outer plastic cover fails in places .... what to do ? You can buy a new pipe I suppose ...
or
Heat shrink tube ... slide onto pipe after trimming smooth the failed area plastic .. cover the failed area and then shrink tight. Bingo - no leaks .
