UV protection for wood

When I bought my boat, the boat builder gave me half a tin of a product called Bradite, with the instructions to give the wood a light rub down to key the surface followed by a thin coat of Bradite to maintain UV protection. I've done this every year, but now the contents of the tin resemble some sort of brown rubber and I have not found this product in Ireland. What other product might fulfil the same function?

There is an old and very well tested method that has been used for years

Varnish.

Ok sorry I have never heard of the product you stated but sound a little bit like deks oil.

Yes........thanks. Looking for an equivalent product available in Ireland - needs to go over the top of 2-part poly.
