We had a quick commiseration with the guys on Salto on Priors jetty.
They were pretty P'd off but philosophical, at least nobody was injured and I think the other party accepted responsibility so should be no probs with insurance.
Shame, because it is obviously a cherished boat and was being well campaigned.
At least it looks as if he will get to spend winter in a shed.
So in the mid week series, Bernies had a 6,5,5 leaving her 6th overall with Brian and Moondancer second overall. I also see they've adjusted her handicap by ten points which is a bit stiff considering she's the only non local /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
What she needs is 14 stone of useless ballast....
Oh, that'll be me then going back down tomorrow /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Hi, sorry didn't mean to imply it was all down to the boat! I did a bit of googling last night and it seems that my 1050 is based on the portsmouth yardstick. I suspect the lack of local eboats racing means there isn't any adjustment on that. Anecdotally when I bought the boat the guy I bought it off said he bought her for club racing but found that most of the competition was bigger and he could not compete despite her hull being fairly quick. He was looking for an impala. I bought her to day sail rather than race so it wasn't a major issue.
Sorry to hear about Salto, at least no one was hurt. Its very daunting heading through the middle of the big boats as they tack up the course.
There have been a few handicap adjustments but apparently they haven't all appeared in the printouts - but they have in the positions if that makes sense.
