Am longterm Palm PDA fan with robust T3 which has processor power and nice big colour screen and bluetooth. Have decided on using laptop hooked up to GPS down-below as a chartplotter as nav.area is dry and sheltered etc. Icing on cake would be repeating lap-top screen, or portion, on the Palm so (especially on nightwatch) I could check position etc from cockpit. There are Palm programs that allow remote PC access via internet. Anyone know if the process can be made to work via bluetooth? Forlorn hope perhaps -but someone out there might know.

i've managed to get my CE based iPaq to repeat the PC display using VNC and Wifi.... using a .net framework.... wouldn't have thought that Bluetooth would be man enough for the job, or robust enough.... I gave up with it in the end though.... a lot easier and more reliable to just buy a cheap plotter....

i experimented with this a couple of years ago. Not brilliant as the battery life of my hp was short and the screen was hard to see in sunshine.

If you want to try it I have put a link to my post when we discussed it on the forum. Hope that helps pda to laptop posting
