Shame about the waiting list for a Scorp but not a surprise.

Surprises me (doesn't really as people buy the perception but hey ho)! I've driven a number of Scorpions both inboard diesel and outboards - they would not be in my top 5!

Spoke to Mark today. Very helpful chap who makes gorgeous (but expensive) RIBS. The SR9 looks stunning.

They are the DB's! Go like the S of a shovel and great hulls - stepped. Mainly based on Okie Manfeld designs. Guy who designed the V24 race boats and did the job on the Sealine S29.
The SR9 is fantastic, but as you say not cheap.
Oh and look at Cougar ribs. Run by Steve Curtis - 7 times World Formula 1 PB champion. They built a rib for Abramovich last year - 10m, twin diesel - Oh it cost £250K. But they do make cheaper ones. HERE
Fab idea Magnum. The Pascoe ribs look utterly stunning. I'm no expert on different makes of RIB but I heard about them when the Perini salesmen at this year's monaco show (which has a special RIB/tender section of the show) said they had got the job to make the owner's tender for Maltese Falcon, and I just checked out their website and it's pictured there! Maltese Falcon is the new (well, the hull aint new... but the rest is) super Perini sailboat with the scissor action square rigged schooner rig, being built (nearly finished) for Tom Perkins. So you'd be in good company
Two massive 300hp outboards would be nice. Died in the woolness says get the big Yams or Mercs. Dunno about the new Evinrude eco things. The previous generation (ficht) Evinrudes were total junk (fact, not imho) but hopefully they got it right this time. Avoid Suzuki imho - Pascoe would probly veto them anyway. Two Merc verado jobs or whatever they are called would look nice...
I have done loads of trailer boating years ago (with smaller stuff, 20foot boston whaler type stuff) and it is crucial to get a good trailer. You need the low friction roller things, all set up well. Not carpetted bunks. You dont want to have to float the boat on, at least not fully, becuase it moves around too much and never lines up on the trailer. You want it to be winched up on the trailer (with some of the boat weight taken by bouyancy, but not all) and then it lines up properly on the rollers. Particularly important if only 2 of you. So get a dogs bolx roller trailer imho or it will put you off using the boat.
