Using 2 mikes on a VHF (B&G V60)?

The B&G V60 VHF has 2 connectors for the microphone: one in the front, one in the back. The idea is to install it in the cabin/chart table (where the current VHF lives), with a mike connected to the front panel, and route a long cable from the rear panel to the cockpit so I can control it outside as well.

Will this work? The manual claims 2 mikes are possible, but that refers to the wireless remotes.

According to the blurb, it would appear that you can use either front or back but not both, I suspect that use of either will switch the other out. You can as you stated use two remote wireless handsets. Why not drop them a line or a phone call and get it from the horses mouth.

I have the wireless handheld remote for that set. Not cheap but it works well for me.
