Uses for a found fishing net?

We found this, at 25 knots just outside the River Hamble this morning, which was exciting. It stopped the boat quite effectively.
Does anyone have any interesting uses for a patch of old nylon fishing net? Perhaps it'd do for a miniature trawl...


Fortunately it was just caught round the leg, not tangled up in the Duoprops and came free quite easily with the leg fully raised and SWMBO waggling the steering. Perhaps on reflection I might buy a bigger penknife for next time...

It would make an excellent goody bag for when I go scallop diving. But I already have several bags made of exactly what ensnared your outdrive.

You might want to check your shaft seals, have picked up similar ropes etc.. which trash the seals and start letting water in, 4 sets so far

drop it in the path of one the pot boats that leave clear plastic bottles tied to their lobster pots so we cant see them
