Sorry to hear your sad tale.

What's the story? Where? When? Have you any idea where she's gone? Have you any photographs you could post here? Is there any distinguising features?

I'm sure if you let us know the gory details, all the folks on here can keep an eye out for her as we go about the world.

Hi
Goldendawn went through a complete refit last Spring including new engine, new interior linings and cabin sole coverings. She was re epoxied, red anti-fouling and above all she was taken down to the original surface and professionally epainted with two pack in the highest gloss white I've ever see. Add to this a new tender and outboard etc.etc.etc. you can see where over £16k went.

We were at anchor, almost against one of the municipal quays in Andraixt, Mallorca, and had spent just six hours ashore getting a new joker valve for the jabsco pump fitted to the holding tank, and when we came back she was gone.

The Guardia Civil, GREAT PEOPLE, searched the area within half an hour of us reporting the theft but there has been no sightings since. We hired a car and toured the Island and the Insurers loss adjusters had local agents who spent over four months looking before deciding she was lost.

One aspect of the whole affair that I would caution anyone about is naming your tender. My Insurance company insisted on the name of the boat being permanently marked on the tender. The Spanish Police do not think much of this idea and I was given a bit of a lecture about it. In future it is going to be a code or something.

It seems that there are not that many boats stolen, but more than you would think was the official line. My opinion is that being a Colvic Watson with such a high bow, she is ideally suited to fishing in those waters, and with the new engine could do in excess of 7 knotts.

We have started looking for a replacement, preferably over in Spain, so if anyone knows of anything small, no larger than 30 feet, and sensibly priced I'd be grateful to hear.

Phil
