Just bought a lazer guided temp. gun from Maplins £50 for work use. How useful could this be on the boat especially if there are two engines to compare. How often on a long trip do you look under the hatch to check the engines when they are working hard? With a flash of the lazer you can check the difference in temp between exhaust risers,injectors,sparkplugs,hoses,cylinder heads or water pumps etc. I also recon it will work on running drive belts . You can also use it at home to check your radiators etc.

Yeah, they're great toys and coming down to a price where its definitely worth getting one for t'boat.

A customer of mine has one. He goes into the convenience store next door and checks their fridges (covertly), which are frequently at 12 degrees. Should be 5! Think about it next time you are peckish for a prawn or chicken sandwich.
