Used Prices cooling?

It may not even be that.....

Cars have log books, number plates and are very traceable....

Boats far less so.......

I wonder if some have been bought merely to get the money out the business and into the business owners “pockets”.....

I think there will be a big readjustment in a year or two - hope I am able to take advantage of it!

Why would the business owner not simply get the money out of the business and directly into his "pockets", why buy a boat with it? (Unless he wanted to buy a boat, in which case it's just a person buying a boat like anyone else).

Surely buying boat through business= tax investigation

It was almost impossible to buy a tender/SIB last year and engines up to 15 hp were fought over. Things haven't improved this year either with waiting lists for delivery.

It may cool off later in the season but I'm not betting on it!

Yes, but buy a boat for say £60k.

Pay 20-30k yourself and get the rest out of the business then balance the books with a fake invoice?

If you are planning to wind up the business anyhow, chances are in the current climate there will be so many that there won’t ever be an investigation.....

Just draining the bank account would still do the same, but perhaps more likely to be discovered?

A boat that we agreed a deal on but didn’t complete about four years ago has just appeared on the market for an asking price 25%. higher. An indication of current market conditions ?
