Perhaps the wrong forum for this kinda post?

I'm looking to buy a 6-6.5m centre console with small internal storage area. I've been using a friends benetau flyer 6 for the last week and it's phenomenal, I'm looking at one of them or a Jenneau cap camarat.

I'm just wondering if there are any others which people would recommend including in my searches?

Also - with a 140 Suzuki it's getting just over 1L/mile consumption. With something bigger like a 175 would the consumption increase greatly or does it work out around the same because the engine isn't working as hard?

Thanks in advance.

I had a Cap Camerat 625 walk around with 135 Honda previously.

The cockpit is pretty basic and not particularly good for socialising - it depends on what you want from a boat.

Having a loo is critical if you wish to bring others on board for a days boating....

I wouldn't worry about subtleties in fuel consumption, its just a cost of boating. If you are planning on mooring the boat afloat then that cost will dwarf your fuel costs!

4 MPG (nautical miles) is a good guide for mixed boating. a 175hp outboard may consume 60-70 litres an hour at full chat....

This is what I have just bought.......

Good luck on your search.

Thanks for your response. I have a rainieri 18' just now and it isn't a great sea boat - kicks up a lot of spray and is a real challenge to handle in any kind of sea state so essentially I'm looking for something a bit bigger and sturdier but the same style. Just for use as a day boat I have an etec 115 on it and just using that as a benchmark for fuel consumption.
I'd take either a sundeck or walk around style boat and the cabin would be used purely for lifejacket storage etc. we use the boat for days out with the kids - swimming, paddleboarding etc

Where are you going to use your boat?
