Use of Oakum and \"Black pudding\"

I am looking for information on how to use Oakum and Black pudding on an old trawler. Dont know how much I will have to do as its still in the water, Im just trying to get the best advice in advance. So if anyone has a book thay can recommend or anything that would help I would be greatfull.
