I believe there are auctions held throughout the USA disposing of seized boats, but where and when is the big question. There are a number of sites on line that for a fee will point you in the right direction, but paying a fee just for an address..........!
Does anyone out there know of the site I need or had any experience of dealing in boats this way. Any relative info would be appreciated.

There used to be a US Govt Department that was responsible for the Auctioning of Drug runners boats and aircraft, but I haven't seen it for some time. Maybe it is still out there, and an email to the US Administration could be worth the cost of an email. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've seen seized drug runner boats in one of the gov't impound lots on the east coast. They'd all been so stripped out and chopped up looking for hidden compartments that there wasn't much left of any of 'em but the hulls.

Other boats that weren't seized in drug arrests weren't in much better shape due to owner neglect and even worse neglect in the impound....hatches left open to the rain...equipment--including engines--had been removed, even cushions and headliners slashed...whether by the gov't or the owner as an act of vengeance just ahead of the seizure, who knows?

Some things, like jewelry and cars, used to be a good bargain at gov't auctions, but the feds have wised up and put reserves or min. opening bids on most things now.

So most gov't auctions of seized aren't nearly the bargain they appear to be.
