I have an ICOM - M502 and am trying to connect the NMEA output to it from my Raymarine RC 320. I have connected as per instructions but get no Lat/Long update on the VHF. As we are sailing from New York to the Azores later today/tomorrow any advice appreciated!!

Thanks!

Don't know the RC320 but does it have a NMEA output none of my recent kit has a Sea Talk to NMEA convertor in it, there is a special interface that Raymarine sell to do that. The NMEA outputs found on Autopilots and plotters just transmit available NMEA data ie you have to input NMEA data to get it out. If you have a Raymarine GPS then the easiest way to do this would be to reconfigure it to output NMEA (assuming you have and it is configured to output Sea Talk) and the the plotter will repeate to your VHF the NMEA data. You would have to change the GPS input to the NMEA input assuming again you have one, othewise you will have to get a propriety Raymarine Sea Talk to NMEA convertor or a Raymarine VHF which I think accepts positrion data in Sea Talk format.
