Went out today after new fan belt fitted yesterday. Port engine
All ok for 10 mins then electrics died on port side on ampmeter pressure temp gauge and trim gauge.
Engines working perfectly
Now back at berth and can’t switch off engine!!
I guess I could turn off fuel but I await replies
HELP!

Not sure about the kad 43, but on the d4 theres an emergency stop button location on the side of the engine block, the kad might have something similar?

If its the same as the KAD32 there is a stop solenoid on the fuel pump. I had this issue on my KADs and took me ages to work it out!! Its in your engine manual if you have one to hand
That was useful
I have taken a +ve feed from the battery and touched it on the solenoid and the engine stopped phew!
I can now have lunch and figure out why there is no power to engines or instruments
Any ideas on this welcome
Cheers
David

The breaker in the black box tripping may be associated with a supercharger clutch fault.
Disconnect the electrical connection to the supercharger clutch and try resetting the breaker.

Well done Martyn
Did all the above and all electrics came to life. Started and stopped the engine perfectly.
I actually have a new spare supercharger coil on board.
Interesting why this has gone.
Yesterday I had a supercharger belt idle wheel adjuster seize and disintegrate and fixed that and fitted new belts.
I believe in coincidences so something is connecting the two events.
Martyn you are a star, take the afternoon off.
Cheers
David

I thought just switching off the fuel might cause other problems, maybe compressing pipes. So switching by externally activating the solenoid was the “proper” solution.

I’ve just spotted a broken wire on the supercharger which must have been partially damaged by debris and driving for 10 mins finished it off.

Thanks to all for contributions
