Hi all, in case it's of any interest on a cold January evening, I have just posted about my experiences reupholstering my cushions on my blog. Let me know if you find it useful or would like more detail. I haven't finished yet so I can take extra pics if anyone wants them. Total cost was around £50 for the fabric and £10 for zips.

Fabric cost me a good deal more than that IIRC ... but I dont like your choice :D

With striped material its important to get the patten to match across adjacent cushions.. also a good idea if tops and bottoms are the same so that the port and starboard cushions can be flipped and swapped over

Foam is expensive but very often not worth recovering old stuff.

I would not have made such a large complex shape as you show. Rather make more smaller cushions to fit the space ( I have 4 in the foc's'l. 1 either side one triangular one under the fore peak, and a rectangular one between the two side one on top of the loo compartment. I even cut the main cabin ones in two to improve access to the under berth stowage space)

Small cushions are also easier to transport in a small car!

My zips are mostly in a long side .. makes getting the foam in easier! Important that the fabric is a tight fit. You can buy the zip by the metre along with separate zippers.

BUT why not write it up and submit it to PBO as an article... they may even pay you a few shillings.
The procedures you describe are pretty much what I did.

Bought my fabric and zip from Toomer and Hayter. Oh and a big spool of thread!

Okay you dont like my choice of fabric :D

Thanks for the input, I didn't replace the foam so very little choice on the shapes but a good idea to cut them up.
I've no idea how to submit an article and don't think my writing is really up to scratch so will probably stick to the blog :) I'm not keen on the fabric but you've done a very good job.
