Upholstery

We need to replace the cushions and covers in the forepeak of our Achilles24 - need a good nights sleep!

Any recommendations for suppliers in Cornwall or Gloucestershire please?

I am just having upholstery made by Kernow Covers 01726 860938(Cornwall of course !) very reasonable, I am providing the templates sizes etc. and foam from Ian Cook 01726 890206 and the fabric from Agua Fabrics 0208205 0050. Hope that helps.

If you have the old ones as a pattern phone Steve at Cloister Uniforms 01752 345346 (Plymouth), he can do most things.

We got some fabric from Dunelm Mills (Nationwide chain - lots of stores on retail parks etc) - and will get busy on the sewing machine this winter. The fabric for all the saloon cushions and the pilot berth cost around £35 - I suspect it will take a weekend or two to get them sewn up - certainly cheaper than getting ones made.

As for cushions - try a local upholstery firm (yellow pages) they can often get good foam quite cheap.

I second Dunelm. We bought a roll end of upholstery fabric, from them, 18m roll 1500 wide £15, did the whole boat with 3m to spare. , they are usually on a rack near the fabrics
