Upholstery replacement Portsmouth area

I also keep my boat in Portsmouth but had the upholstry replaced by Sanders sails in Lymington last year. I'm a self-confessed fussy sod and am very, very pleased with the result. Sanders did a A1 job and were cheaper than CJ Marine who I also got a quote from.

High quality rather than budget I suspect.

Closer to Portsmouth you might try Covercare a small business based in Thornham marina, near Emsworth

I'd recommend http://www.hawkehouse.co.uk/ for perhaps the best job, cushions are finished very well with mix of foam and fibre pile to give them that luxurious look and feel or http://www.cjmarine.co.uk/ were very professional if rather pricey. http://www.comfortafloat.co.uk/ have a good reputation and http://www.tecsew.com/ did me a fantastic spray hood.

Be very careful of C & J

I have used C & J several times but on the last occasion wished I hadn't. On fitting a sprayhood they unfortunately damaged our boat. On asking them to fix the damage they simply quoted their terms and conditions which basically state that any damage they do is down to you to fix! So buyer beware... Needless to say we are now using someone else.

Having just had a large amount of upholstery completed, I can now thoroughly recommend Tecsew. Great design service, complete with CAD drawings showing the results before you commit, they gave a number of options to choose from and provided a fast service.

Unfair terms of business - they wont win that in court if they were careless

Why does every thread I can find on CJ Marine talk about how high there prices are? How does the company remain in business with sky high prices and questionable quality products. I ordered a stack pack wich didn't fit and then broke at the seems, it may as well have been made in China!

CJ Marine are expensive as all the threads point out, there's another problem with them you though the after care service, try and compalin you'll get quoted there terms and conditions. Buyer beware it happened to me and it's happened to this poor guy on an earlier thread. It's a shame in this day and age that business isn't understood - I think the lesson is don't mistake a superior price for a superior product!

Next time try Tecsew in Portsmouth. Very helpful and much better attitude.
