I'am currently reffiting for an extended time cruising, hoping to get to the caribbean but no rush or fixed plans but my mind has turned to upgrading my instruments.
I have decided I will probably purchase a Raymarine c95 MFD and Radar as at present I have no radar and my Plotter is a bit tired. However to keep costs down I would like to keep my Clipper wind, speed, depth, ( I know maybe not the best but they work and I find the diplays clear and simple) and my Raymarine st6002 / smartpilot autopilot.
I was thinking the radar will simply plug into the MFD but that I will then need to buy an NMEA multiplexer so I can put the Clipper instruments into the MFD and then use a seatalk to seatalkNG converter to connect the autopilot, this would then leave me a spare NMEA am I thinking along the right lines. Does anyone know also if I connect the autopilot in this way wether I wll be able to control the autopilot from the MFD, believe this would be possible with a true seatalkNG sytem but not sure with the converted one.
Thanking you in advance
