Lunch in Lymington, bought a couple of magazines and pottered back down to the town quay for a few hours peace whilst the girls went shopping.

Sorted myself out with a brew, settled down on the sofa and felt a bit crammed in.

Disposed of 14 cushions in various shapes, sizes and fabric choices. Feet no longer touch the end of the sofa when stretched out. Body doesn't get shoved on the floor.

In fact it feels like I've just added 10 feet to the length of the boat.

I have accidentally lost all of SWMBO's scatter cushions overboard over the years. I've told SWMBO that they were so fantastic that they've been nicked by the thieving foreigners who've had access to our boat and if she bought some more, they'd go the same way. Anyway now she's got pillows all over our saloon. I can't stand scatter cushions on the boat or in the home or anywhere. An interior furnishing designer has agonised for months over the design and style of a seat and then somebody comes along and wrecks it by plonking scatter cushions on it. Why? Its like putting tomato ketchup on fillet steak

What is it with Cushions and candles, swmbo has 56 cushions in our house (I am sad enough to count them) and God knows how many candles. Banned them from boat but two cushions have sneaked in... They will probably breed over the summer!! No candles on board, I have told her it is against Maritime law due to health and safety!
