Updating chartplotter

I want to update my 2003 Raychart 435 Chartplotter to something a bit more up to date. What would people recommend in its place - given that I would like something of a similar size ( 177mm x175mm x 63mm). Personally I fancy anything Garmin but what do others think - oh and mainly for coastal sailing UK. Thanks. TOC

the new raymarine looks fantastic after a play in the shop. May have overtaken garmin again having trailed behind. But I emphasise it was a shop play not real use. Linking to iPad just perfect for very low cost second station. It is widescreen though so you'll need to free up a bit more real estate.

I've got a 435 and I'm planning on upgrading to a E7. I have ray marine for everything else so I want to remain compatable and I like that way it links with apple products.

I have just spent two weeks on a boat with an e7 and an e9 and I liked them alot. There is also a new A series out soon, along the same lines, so that might be worth waiting for.

Having said that Garmin are also excellent and something like the 750 might be ideal.

Standard Horizon are also good, as are Simrad and Lowrance.

Not much help really am I??

I've got a 435 and I'm planning on upgrading to a E7. I have ray marine for everything else so I want to remain compatable and I like that way it links with apple products.

At the begining of the season I updgraded from a C120 'classic' to new C125 and it is great bit of kit, but Raymarine really want you to have all the other kit on board working on their latest networking format (Seatalk-ng).

Raymarine do a converter which translates the seatalk to seatalk-ng but the instructions state you can't run an autopilot off it and an additional one is required for a seatalk GPS input.

It has a bit of a pain as the reason for going with Raymarine was to keep the networking functionality.
