Updating chart plotter software

Especially for Garmin users, but probably applies to other brands.

In the process of updating my charts, I discovered this page at Garmin, and that my plotter was eight software updates behind the times. Now being rectified. You might like to check whether new s/w is available for yours.

If you register your plotter etc with Garmin they should tell you of updates. Sadly this does not happen in my case. However on a positive note, with a complete Garmin system radar/NMEA 2000, the download onto the plotter updates all items on the system.

Hi will I be able to download it onto my system 0183 and not 2000 ?

If you go to the Garmin web site you will find a software update section, if you browse that section you will find a full list of products you can update and how to do it.
