A couple of months ago i asked the forum what we needed to do with a UK registered yacht leaving the UK for France with a non EU citizen on board.
You were all very helpful and so we left with all our documents, passports, visas ( for my australian girlfriend to get back into the UK).
Got to France. First port La Rochelle. The marina staff called customs and immigration. The asked ( down the phone) whether we had " any opium on board". Then they said they couldnt be bothered and the passports stayed in our bag , unseen.
Came back six weeks later. Arrived in Dover and the marina staff called the UKBA to inform them that we had a non eu citizen on board who needed passports stamped. Again, they said we dont need to see you.
So no great problems. However no doubt if we hadnt have declared her and been caught we'd have been up to our necks in it.
