On the way back to our berth today we spotted this unusual vessel:
My mate was very curious about what it is, how it works, and what advantages the design is supposed to have. I said I'd ask here in case someone knew about it.
I wonder in particular what it does for engines. Not much room for them in those narrow hulls, nor maintenance access, but the drivetrain down from the pod would be pretty tricky too (the legs are curved when viewed end-on). Hydraulic or diesel-electric? Neither often used for fast boats like this appears to be.
