I'm replacing the skin fittings on a 2008 Dehler.
They are flush with the hull surface so I assumed they had constant thickness flanges rebated in.
However it turns out that the heads actually have a pronounced bevel on the back i.e. they are countersunk rather than rebated.
Does anyone happen to know a source for them in DZR or bronze please?
I need 3/4" BSP with head diameter of 35mm and 1 1/4" BSP with head diameter of 61mm. Outer edge thickness is 2mm.
Thanks!

Bronze skin fittings

No photo at the mo - fittings are in Holland and I'm here!
However I've found something similar - in US, bronze, NPT threads and v expensive! - with a pic at http://www.jamestowndistributors.co...e=Groco+Flush+Mount+Bronze+Thru-Hull+Fittings
Need a BSP equivalent in DZR!

Hi troubadour, do you know anybody with a lathe? It would probably be cheaper to get them turned up
on a lathe than order them from the US. The shipping cost will be a killer. Can't Dehler themselves supply
replacement parts?
If you are really stuck what you could do is get some ordinary bronze skin fittings with a bit of flange thickness
then get a machine shop the skim the front surface flat. These modified fittings could then be fitted with a large blob
of sealastik to fill the space in your hull. There does not seem to be any reason why this would be mechanically much
weaker.

I will try Dehler UK but as it's all now absorbed into Hanse and the Dehler factory shut my hopes are not high, and I'm sure Hanse won't use DZR.

Hi again, When I replaced my skin fittings and sea clocks I used DZR plumbing parts in large size from
Pipecentre. They are part of Plumbcenter which supplies large size fittings. There is also PTS plumbers merchants
who supply large size pipe fittings. If you look at a large size water tank connector you will find there is an uncanny
resemblance to a boat skin fitting. As for the sea clocks - use large size lever ballvalves.

ASAP do what they call inclined Head fittings which look very much like your sample.

I think that ASAP's inclined head fittings have the conical section on the outside rather than the inside. See, for example

If you are prepared to consider moving forward from the bronze age you may want take a look at Marelon (made by Forespar) they can be had from Aquafax, they are valves complete with countersunk skin fittings, I have had a few and been very pleased with the results.

Same thought occurred to me but I hadn't found any DZR tank connectors. I found DZR ball valves but actually seemed dearer through plumbers than from ASAP.
I will look at Pipecentre and PTS though thanks.

I realise that the thread is a year old but for info I do have a friend who has replaced every skin fitting, valve and hose tail on his Dehler with DZR ones from ASAP. Total cost for eight or nine assemblies was somewhat mind-blowing but the originals, not all that old, were brass and showed some signs of imminent failure.

In the end I bought dzr from ASAP and got them machined to as near a match as possible. Total cost was about 350 I think for 6 fittings, valves, tails etc.
