Unknown Outboard

I have an outboard but am unsure of the manufactor of it. I've been told its an "Archimedes Penta" and I'm assuming its a 25 HP. On the manufactors plate it has "SBM Boat Motors, Uppsala Sweden" then the serial number. It also has "25 S" on its cover which I assume is model number? I also have a few pictures of this outboard if this would help anyone identify it. I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me where to find some information in form of web sites, manuals, etc or even from your own experience of these outboards.

Rob, I suspect that you have not been inundated with responses to your request 'cos unless one is old & grey, people don't remember Archimedes Penta! have a feeling that they went out of production circa mid70's ( open to correctionas alway's) believe they were bought out by Volvo, who then made outboards, then stopped late 70's early 80's.....If you filled out your bio, people may be able to point you to someone in your area, who may be able to help...Welcome to the forum! regards Tony W.

My father used to sell and repair outboards and would curse anytime someone wanted work on a Penta. Same for Perkins too. I think he ended up refusing to work on them!
