Dear all,
First let me introduce myself to the forum. I am setting up a little boat building business near Santander in north Spain.
A few weeks ago one of my clients brought this little beauty to my workshop. Apparently she was brought from England more than 30 years ago.

I don’t know if then or when the rig and the centreboard case were removed, and since then she was used as a rowing boat and for many years too. When she started being too leaky and the owner didn’t have anyone to do the repairs he stored her in a country house for 10 years or more (luckily in a dry and airy place).

Now he is completely into putting the old rig back which are fantastic news for me, because it will means building the spars , the rudder, the centreboard and the case.

The thing is that I don’t have a clue of what class she could be if any. She is 3,52 m (11ft 6,6in) long and 1,47m(4ft 10in) wide, and the centreboard is more a daggerboard, because the slot in the keel (closed with sika and a piece of pine) is only one foot long, so I imagine a very narrow board with an up and down motion, but I am not sure. Also as you see she´s got a very characteristic transom going a bit tumble.

Another interesting feature is that the ribs are rounded, and towards the bow they stop being parallel and go like the tip of an arrow pointing aft. The craftsmanship shown through out the boat is amazing, and after so many years NOT EVEN ONE RIB IS CRACKED. The mahogany planking is not in so good condition, particularly the three first 3 planks from the waterline down.
When I have taken the paint off, I found the mast step and is over a meter aft of the bow, which suggest (correct me if I am wrong) that she used to have a head sail plus main sail. There´s also one shroud fitting left.

If anyone would like to know any other measurements please let me know.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance.

For some reason I can only upload these two picures. See more at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=35504&id=100000642981476&l=686ad806cf

She is a pretty little boat it looks reminiscent of a 12ft Walker Tideway but is subtly different with a little bit more tumblehome at the transom, The rig style & dimensions from a Tideway would not be far out at all.

Thanks Keith66,

Yes, the tideaway looks very similar, but I havent been able to see wether the centreboard comes straight down or with a hinge effect sideways.

One of the main features of my boat is that the centreboars slot is very short, only a foot, and only three ribs "interrupted" in the keel area. Do you know of any 12ft clinker dinghy like that, with a kind of dagerboard?

However, the slot was closed a very long time ago and even a piece of the hog over the slot was changed. For the state of the inside of the slot (which I saw after removing a piece of pine and about a kilo of sika) you can see she had an intense sailing life before she was turned into a rowing punt.

In any case I think the rig would look great on mine.
Thanks again.
