I removed the engine from my boat yesterday. twenty minutes with the help of 1 Moroccan, 1 Spanish, 1 German, 1 Frenchman (Yea, really) 1 Greek and 1 Englishman (Me). Tomorrow the Greek guy (Head of security for all of the ports here.) has decided that we must check out every thing in my engine room before the new engine goes in and is coming to do it himself even though I'm an engineer! If all the world were sailors, there would be no more problems.

Ah, but that is only a British problem! When my new motor arrived here I needed to get my boat from it's berth to the travel hoist (about two hundred meters) my friend here said he would get some of his friends to tow it. At seven that evening he phoned and asked if the boat was ready for moving. It was. "OK, my friends will be there at midnight." At midnight a ten meter RIB with three 200hp outboards on the back and the words Guardia Civil on the sides arrived! Ten minutes later and my boat was secured at the waiting quay. The cost? We all went to the pub until two in the morning when the Guardia Civil guys left to patrol (looking for drugs runners etc).
