I am not sure, but I think that translates to:

Hi there, I am the 17 year daughter of an accountant, which it seems, is a career that enjoys a lousy reputation. I thought that people that sail were friendly, but evidently not, as you all seem to be enjoying taking a quick stab at my mother. If you haven't got anything nice to say, then please refrain from posting replies.

If you would like to continue with your childish replies, then I am more than willing stand up and be counted!!!

Yours sincerely.

S: have you actually read your mother's post? It was its very unfriendly and confrontational attitude towards the local Spanish that brought about those reactions. She asked for it, IMHO.

I think I've just read your mothers thread about Ibiza. I must say I totally agree, but wil ad the french to that list as well. We travelled through france last year in the canals and suffered the same type of descrimination, We both said at the time "we now know how an imigrant must feel in the UK at time"
Read our web site www.seagipsy.com and don't go to france. we're preparing for another trip on our boat cos like you we're not sick of the boat, just the bloody obnoxious french.
and no I haven't miss splet french Ijust don't think they are worth the Capital letter.

This seems to me to be another example of 'you get what you ask for'. Remember the Beatles' parting words: "...and in the end; the love you take is equal to the love you make". Still very much true.

I have met obnoxious people in France and I have met obnoxious people in the U.K. I suspect there may even be such people on this site (very small minority of course) but overall I have met far more good people in all these places

Mind you, when I saw Slarty's original comment, I thought "oh oh". And thought, can I be bothered to tell him I was an accountant. Nah!
Anyway, we always find that if we're friendly chaps, then the Spanish (French, Greeks or whatever) are friendly chaps too.

Nomad (junior) full marks for sticking up for Mum, who I suspect had a "bad hair day" when she posted her opinions.
Has she travelled much, was Ibizia her first long term stay abroad? Maybe so. Anyway, the more you travel the more ratbags you are likely to meet..BUT.. you will also meet many more really nice people, doesn't matter where in the world you go, the goodies usually outweigh the duff ones, and that includes the "yacht people" as you call 'em. ( not me! I'll never make a "yacht person") but I am ok, honest /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is a pitty, Nomad junior, that having lived several years in Ibiza, you have learn nothing.
You are the true daughter of your mother.
Does not matter where you are, what matters is how you are.

Be happy, if you can.

Arthritic thumbs might prevent many hear learning to read/write text speak but good to hear a younger vioce. Nobody hear should ever 'have a go' at anyone because its unfreindly and against the rules but thats different to critisising what people say. Your mums post was about her experience which is fine but I think some people found it racist and got offended/defensive. Hope it dosen't put you off talking to us. In the same vein we are not 'yachtspeople' but individuals and if you want to see how individual read some of trouvilles' posts!
