underwater primer reccomendations

My MF805 is get it antifoul removed to the gel coat and i require a good primer so any reccomendations.

looked at primocon and there is no mention about it can be used for GRP. This is the what i lifted from the international web site
(Primocon is a fast drying, one-part primer for use below the water line before antifouling is applied. Formulated for timber, steel, aluminium, cast iron keels and lead keels.)

It can be used for GRP.....have a look at the data sheet:-

“An excellent primer for antifouling paint over sanded fiberglass.”

Gelshield 200 gives you osmosis protection, especialy if the boat has been abrasive blasted but also on hulls scraped clean of antifoul and sanded will give you significant additional protection.

If I bought a new boat with no anti-fouling I would have it sanded, five coats of Gelshield 200 then two of a hard racing antifoul and in year two hard or soft anti-fouling.

Primocon would act as a tie coat to tie anti-fouling to a bare GRP hull but would not be any use in preventing osmosis.

Do modern boats still suffer osmosis? I thought that was confined to boats from the 70s or earlier?
