I'm wondering if Mr.Butler was a MoBo forumite.
Some recent threads make his final decision understandable...

My other signature was a picture....

Why "was"?

Kim has turned off pictures in signatures and you have to cheat like this:
(You haven't got enough dashes above your picture!)

It's a cheat - take out your actual signature, put an image tag at the bottom of your post to include your required picture and put the dashes above it to make it look like a signature. You have to do the same for every individual post though, as it can't be inserted automatically.

Like below, but using square [ ] brackets - the dashes are just aesthetic.

Thanks Mark,

While waiting the interminable few microseconds between question and answer (LOL), I wondered if that might be the solution. The dashes gave it away, but then the comment about "not enough dashes" made me wonder if there was a really, really clever hack.

I'm far too idle to key that lot in each time, but I'll see if I can come up with a cunning plan...

Thanks,

Mike

It occurs to me that the dialogue between yourself and l'escargot in itself provides a delightful endorsement of the satire in the original topic of this post...........!
Here we are confronted with the apparent suicide of a PowerPoint obsessed individual and before the transition has concluded you two are engrossed by a desire to get round the difficulties of including piccies in your signatures.
Perhaps one of you could develop a ppt presentation to guide the rest of us through the intricacies of your preferred procedure? It would of course need to have a suitably marine background image, carry a soundtrack of ,say, the noises heard during a passage from Ocean Village to the Folly and back, and use a suitably developed transition which leaves the viewer in no doubt that it is a 'BOATY' presentation.

I am sure Powerskippper and Solitaire will follow this thread with renewed interest ! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry Tony but this subject is rather sick. Would have been better not to post at all re suicide. All IMHO.

Always glad to provide entertainment for the masses.

Anyway, Please Sir, I didn't start it, it's unfair.

From my short sojourn here, it would appear that there are many precedents hereabouts about veering off the topic.

Does the "Top Story" that I posted from the same source perhaps not suggest to you that the PPt presentation might not be all it seems? Have a look here if you are still concerned.

I do like Boatone's suggestion of a (satirical) boaty PPt presentation, perhaps when I have a bit of time to spare I might come up with one - there is plenty of material on these forums - beware!
