Can anyone offer comments on the quality of material from this supplier? He's based in Grimsby and has an ebay shop. I need some extra mooring lines now and will need some chain in the spring. Prices are very attractive but it's hard to tell what the quality is from a picture on the screen.

only ever bought a couple of snap shackles from him. to be used as up/down haul on a spi pole. This was about 3 years ago. No sign of rust or corrosion. put a far bit of load on them and they have stood up to it.

We also bought shackles which are fine - that was a few years ago.

They're very helpful, and so if you ask they should supply samples of rope, so you can decide what you want. Indeed, most vendors of rope will do this.

I would not buy mooring lines or other rope without seeing what I was getting for the price. My advice would be to check out some samples.

I have bought an anchor, 10mm chain and warps from him. I am pleased with the quality. I will buy from him again.

I've had loads of 16mm 3 strand nylon, some 24mm octoplait, SS steering cables with Talurit eyes and probably loads more stuff that I can't recall. All good quality with fast delivery.

I've used them twice. I bought all my anchor chain and octoplait from them last year, and rope for sheets and reefing lines this year. Its all branded stuff (Liros etc.). As you say, their prices are very reasonable. Staff are very helpful and it's always arrived promptly. Satisfied with the quality.

Another vote for. They made up some standing rigging for me earlier this year. Sta-lok turnbuckles and everything still in good order when I took the mast down a couple of weeks ago.

I am just about to order some standing rigging, and their price of 7mm 19 by 1 SS is a less than half the price of others, and I was concerned, would the quality be ok. You have put my mind at rest, I will be going with them. This will be a saving of £900.
