Judgement is divided as to whether to include Albania whilst on your way, or avoiding it altogether. Mind you, coming from 'round the corner' of Italy, that shouldn't be an issue for you. Where are you heading for in Istria? You may find some of the links on my site (see below) of use for the final part of your cruise. See you here!

Which marina will you be keeping your boat in (I presume it is your boat that is going there for good)? Pola, Veruda or Pomer? When are you planning on arriving? Do you already know the Dalmatian coast at all?If not, I can perhaps suggest one or two anchorages or revictualling stops according to need. Remember that if youre boat is to be moored permanently within Croatian territory, you can get a discount on the annual cruising fee!

I have not decided as yet as to which marina as I am still very much in the planning stage. I guess it will come down to price and facilities. Veruda maina is huge and I would ideally prefer something smaller.

I am not familiar with the Dalmation coast at all from a sailing point of view and as such would very much appreciate any and all information that you may have.

I guess my current plan for arrival is dependant of 2 things. The first of which is how long the house renovation is going to take and secondly when I can finalise and complete the necessary work on the boat.

I am hoping to leave the UK in say June/July (all things being equal).

Sure, Veruda has some 650 places to the 200/220 each at Pola and Pomer. Strange, though, it didn't seem that big when I passed through! Pomer will certainly be the quietest location and also well-placed for setting off down the coast, Pola the cheapest (but also the noisiest - you're right in the middle of town). All a bit awkward to get to from UK, though (Rynair to Trieste, then one, max two buses daily to Pola taking perhaps 4 hours or so).
PM me when you've some queries and I'll see how I can help!

P,S, Trieste has a good selection of chandlers and skills.

Albania! Last year I have sail twice near Albania and once we stopped in Valona.
It cost us 250 USD for nothing. Dirty port - nothing to see. Next time we jumped from Corfu to Kotor directly 203 Nm. That was better. Kotor is very nice Dalmatian style small town( 73 Eur entering fees in Montenegro for 1 month approval) and deserve to stop there. But if you coming from Sicilia than logical way is Otranto -Vieste - Vis ( via Palagruza). Also very nice tour.
