Hi there,

I'm planning on sailing my Bavaria 42 from Ipswich down to Gibralter at the end of July.

I'm an experienced sailor / Yachtmaster (male 37yo) and have skippered many boats down to the med over the years. I have two in-experienced friends coming (both male, 37 & 60yo)) along and would like to find someone WITH experience to join us as mate and lead a watch. Depending on experience and if they have time they may skipper the yacht on from Gib to Majorca.

I would also like to take one other person to make 5 crew in total, they do not need to have any experience.

I'm hoping to get the boat to Falmouth in the next week to ten days and then leave Falmouth (weather depending) on the 27th July.

We have an employee who is a very good skipper here in Greece but he lacks tidal mileage. I'm interested in getting him on a trip like this. He is currently skippering a 50 footer until Friday but could be available soon after.

The only problem is that he needs a visa for the UK (he has a Schengen visa which covers almost everywhere else in Europe) and it would take a few weeks to get one.

If you don't find anyone suitable and would be interested in him joining you in France please let me know. What are the financial arrangements? Presumably you will cover all food and expenses?

I have offshore and night watch experience. I will also be in the UK at the end of the week. Please send me more info if you are still looking.

Just wondered if you were still looking for a fifth person (assuming you haven't already left)?

I wouldn't do as a watch leader—I'm really just a dinghy sailor looking to do something get some offshore experience—but if you have a space left for a final person who need not be experienced I'd be interested.
