Err, yeah but what next?

Tell them they've been naughty boys and send them packing?

Luxury (for them) prison pad at taxpayer's expense in England, followed by automatic asylum here?

A not-so-unlucky Friday 13th, methinks.

quote.
Capt Shaun Jones RFA, commanding officer on RFA Fort Victoria, said: "To manoeuvre such a large ship at speed in close vicinity of a nimble dhow takes extreme concentration and skill; my team were never found wanting."

Perhaps a little less skill was called for !

In fairness Webby it's not like news of Trafalgar is it.
I'm embarrassed that it took a frigate several ribs and helicopter to stop these guys.

I watch a program on tv about the Australian Navy and I bet it's just like ours. Dhow sighted and ordered to stop, Dhow takes off followed by frigate pa system blasting out "Stop or we will ask you to stop again in an angry (yet professional) voice. This goes on for a while until the voice-over says something like "As darkness approaches the Frigate breaks off the encounter fearing a crash with the Dhow in the dark will threaten life" or some such other ridiculous thing.

Just an everyday job for the Navy. Its what they get paid for. Its what they paid me for.

Peeps should not criticise the Navy for doing their job. We all know the probable outcome but blame the Pollios for that.

Peeps should also bear in mind that this is just one reported incident. Much much more goes on which is not reported. You only learn about what the MOD/Government wants you to know about. BZ to the boys in blue. (you cant see me suits :D)

OK, so the navy has at last done something but, just what has been achieved? They will most likely be released because of the cost of prison time + benefit on release.

I wonder why the navy didn't just sink the junk and then shoot any survivors. Problem solved at minimal cost. Oh, I forgot the Human Rights Act, pirates can kill prisoners without fear of being executed (in most countries) but, we mustn't harm them! How f*****g stupid is that?

I don't think the Navy should be allowed to line people up and shoot them but if they order the Dhow to stop and if it doesn't, then open fire, but properly with a big gun. Do what the Russians do and load the survivors into a life-raft.
