UK Live aboard-is this crazy?

what about Preston del sol...?
it IS preston I know, but fairly close to things.. anywhere in the uk in winter can look the pits. the good thing about preston is the motorway links. I used to have an aircraft at Rufforth and the hop over to york was not too bad from lancs. a couple of hours.

dunno the policy on liveaboards, but probably ok, we have seen many who SEEM to be liveaboards there. also tidal gated, but an easy hop off for Isle of man, north wales, ireland etc etc. and really not a bad location.

Preston is quite nice marina. Good swindlery / cafe. Refurbished town centre location, OK security, can handle big boats. Dunno about liveaboards, never really noticed when I've been there. Only real problem is access, you can't exactly pop out for a day sail. Probably 50 minutes from M62 J22, so quite good access to Yorkshire.

Except the sea /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

There are quite a few liveaboards in Preston

Glasson Dock is the cheapest of Liverpool, Fleetwood, Preston and Whitehaven, probably about £1800 for a years berthing plus reasonably metered electricity
