UK Border Agency 'not good enough' and being scrappe

Probably the Government itself,hav'nt they underfunded it? & it was said on the radio yesterday that amalgamating it with home office would mean a cut in funding.

I nearly choked on my tea when i saw UNDERFUNDED. The Boarder Agency/Force or whatever they are called must have been the fastest growing Government Agency in the last few years, the additional bureacracy is breathtaking, witness the dramas trying to get back in to the country at any airport (anyone remember the olympics fiasco at heathrow?) if this has now failed after all the time and money that has been spent on it then someone needs shooting

No, they promoted her to run the HMRC. She has already admitted to the Treasury Select committee that she doesn't understand tax matters. Senior civil servants are usually uncontaminated by experience and never get sacked, so far as I can see.

As the UKs only formal Border is with The Irish Republic the Border Agency was a bit of a minomer!

Well they seemed to be short staffed otherwise why did they not bother with many checks which is what I heard about.
What gets me is not the import procedure but that they keep rattling on about EU problems while around here there has been an enormous influx of Chinese/Africans/Arabs.How do they get in when they are not supposed to be part of the European Union?
Seems to me that what they need is stop random checks because the shear number of immigrants can't have all come in officially if the rhetoric that I have heard is anything to go by.

Yes. Classic civil service problem. Instead of looking at the root causes and changing the systems and laws to make it manageable, they re-organise. And even worse, they go back to what they had before and which didnt work either.

The problem isnt the people or even the management and organisation - its the job they are being asked to do. Every bleeding heart and every grasping lawyer have simply thrown sand into the works to prevent the rapid and effective expulsion of the illegals.

And that goes for both the management and the unions. The poor bloody infantry at the sharp end may indeed be overloaded, but usually because of poor leadership and bloated management.

I don't think it's constructive to blame Labour when immigration seems to be increasing all the time & has even increased markedly the last six months.I do agree that management are very good at isolating themselves from the every days affairs of those on the ground but what's to be done about it?The present shower are only reacting to the situation because of the UKIP fear & a tendency to vote for ever more extremist parties which is what the present situation is driving us to in my estimation.
I see no alternative to voting for one of those extremist parties because all the Labour/Conservative LibDem Politicians are out of touch with reality for very many people on the ground nowadays & of course I am not just talking about immigration policy.At the heart of everything nowadays is the rich getting richer & an increase in selfishness.
