Anchored at Hamford water on Saturday night and struggled to get the anchor up on Sunday. After much puffing, panting and swearing eventually managed to get the anchor to the surface to see it had picked up a large, skinny V shaped object, but i couldn't lift the weight of the two above the water (no windlass).
More swearing and sweating followed as I got a line around, then down and hooked over the anchor; hauled that up using the sheet winch, secured the offending item to a deck cleat, droped the anchor from under it, and finally got the anchor aboard and stowed.
Disinclined to put another anchorer (or perhaps us again!) to the same bother, rather than drop the thing where we found it we sailed with it dangling from the hull (too heavy and rough to want to try to lift aboard) and dropped it in the deeper water beyond Pye End.
Unidentified Flippin' Object? Un-Floating Object?
