Stupid taxi drivers peed off, parkedup outside Faro airport again this morning to protest, real clever, go on strike so people use Uber more! Duh! Used them twice this weekend, cheap, efficient and does what it says on the tin. A message to the ignorant non answering radio taxi service in Albufeira who used to have a monopoly to be rude, welcome to the real world!

Are you in Albuferia? We have winter berth booked and will arrive later in October. We have poor info on various facilities and it is our first-time visit. Is there a good chandlery nearby? We will need to buy antifouling for next year plus odd maintenance stuff. Sorry to divert your thread.

On pontoon E33 for 9months. John at Ayamar in Ayamonte is best bet for antifoul and chandlery stuff if you are that end before arrival.
Some stuff on site but not cheap.

I’d never heard of Uber. Then the taxi drivers went on strike and it was in the news that they were protesting Uber. Googled Uber, and the rest is history.

Sopramar at Lagos is very good. Helpful staff, good stocks and happy to get things in. BUT very expensive.

For antifouling I found it very expensive compared to the uk, and last year shipped it out from uk. Bought at marinesuperstore, delivered to Algarve Shipping in Essex, they ship to the Algarve (weekly service). But another good source is www.svb.de - it’s a German online chandlery that will deliver to Albufeira. They have decent prices.

Hi Stu,

As you will be aware, John used to do a monthly delivery trip along the Algave on a Sunday. His contact details are: http://www.nauticayamar.com/contact-us.html, not sure if the delivery service is still running?

Cheers,

N
