For reasons beyond my control I had to leave a large area of exterior teak without varnish. Several weeks in the sun turned it white, I block sanded the teak and got the natural colour back. However upon varnishing I began to notice areas of white that still remained in the less accessible spots where it was hard to sand.
Can I put some teak stain onto the dry varnish in these areas?

If this should ever happed again would I be better off using a teak acid to bring back the natural colour?

Many thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Don't make a rod for your own back; there is enough work in looking after a boat without trying to keep teak yellow. Just let it go white [or silver, as Ian suggests]. If you really must have a yellow deck or wooden fittings, then coat it with Coelan. At least then you'll get some sailing done in between fussing.
Peter.
