I'm trying to set up a sailing trip from Lanzarote --> Morocco --> Grand Canaria --> Tenerife --> Fuerta Ventura --> Lanzarote

It's a two week sailing trip on a 37 or 38' Bavaria using Endeavour Sailing (Who I've used twice before and I recommend).

Owner on board plus 4 people (Inluding me). You need to be Day Skipper or Competent Crew qualified (Minimum 1:1 ratio and I have Day Skipper) due to 4 day / night "Ocean Crossing" with night watches in pairs on the return leg from Morrocco.

I'm trying to set it up for the first two FULL weeks in July. Price is £980 including all meals on board (Expect to pay for some on land/ in port). You just need flights extra but I am hoping they wont be too much as this is the two weeks BEFORE schools break up.

Anyone interested please PM me.

It does look like a seat on a commercially priced voyage to me

I want to go on the trip. I have spoken to the company and they have told me minumum 4 people so wondered if anyone on here would fancy joining and filling some of the other 3 places? Just an idea and I think the price is good.

Sorry if that's not allowed. Someone with authority can delete the thread.

I have often wondered about advertising on here for crew to share a non-commercial yacht charter.

Non-commercial meaning no one making a profit, other than the charter company.

Chartering a yacht and getting others to share in the cost, is an excellent way for people who either don't or can't own a yacht, to get sailing. Or like the poster I have quoted, appears to want people to share his chartered yacht or even make the proposition possible.

I can charter yachts at a good price this time of the year and would be prepared to act as skipper on a not for profit basis. Equally sharing the cost of the charter and chucking my share into the ships kitty.

Would this not be in keeping with the spirit of this forum? I am interested in your thoughts on this.

I think people looking for others to share a charter qualifies as "people looking for boating opportunities" and fits with the spirit of the forums.

That is my interpretation as well, so nothing really wrong with ZanZiba's posting.

Really it is probably wise to allow the people who run this site, possibly YBW staff. To determine whether or not a posting is contrary to their policies.

So any one up for a midweek non-comercial charter in the New Year? From either the Solent area or Plymouth for a passage to France.

presumably on a noncommercial charter that you propose yo won't accept any fees for your time and will pay your share of the fees for the boat

I am also paying £980 for the boat use for the two weeks. The owner / skipper is the owner of the company I propose to use, Endeavour Sailing in Gibraltar, who will make a profit from it. I am not affiliated in any way with the company, just a paying client who has used them twice before.

I merely need 3 other people to make up numbers. The owner, Keith, will be onboard and will skipper / navigate etc. the yacht.

Yes! I sail for pleasure as well professionally and welcome a relaxed cruise now and then.

I also enjoy meeting new people and sharing my knowledge.:)

Trip to morocco

You will indeed be more than 60 miles from a safe haven, be careful, The RYA inspector made a paticular point of this when he inspected schools in Lanzarote last year, I know because I escorted him and was a skipper for a school
