I have a Yamaha 8hp which has done 150 hrs. Recently on morning start [air temp about 14c] there is a notable increase in the resistance to pull of the starter cord accompanied by a high pitched squeal noise and the engine is harder to start. Once running there is no problems and it does not occur with subsequent starts. The only past history was when the motor over heated due to a water intake blockage and the engine seized. This occurred 12 months ago. After cooling down the engine started and ran fine with no problems until now. Compression testing shows about 100psi for both cylinders and I do not have any prior readings. Where to from here-do I have a problem which is going to worse?
