Hi All,

My boat has been in the water since June 2020, hasn't moved since October so as you can imagine has built up quite a layer of fouling.

As I don't want to be out of the water anti fouling end of April/ May I was planning on getting lifted and having the bottom washed and then put back in. My question is has anyone done this with Seajet shogun and what was the subsequent growth like? The instructions on the tin say it's ok to do this if you have put three coats on, however I only have two.

Guessing it will be ok, just looking for some real world experience.

Oh, the boat is kept in Plymouth.

Thanks

Steve

My boat is also in Plymouth.

The last lot of Seajet shogun 33 antefowl was applied in Feb 2019. It was lifted last spring for a jet wash and returned to the water after an hr or so. It was in reasonable condition when lifted out in October

I’ve always thought that pressure washing a/foul just about kills the paint efficacy by washing out the active ingredients. In your place I’d scrub/brush only, not pressure wash.

Agree. I wouldn't pressure-wash eroding antifoul mid-season, it will certainly remove some of the antifoul.

Or the active ingredients are depleted, hence the need to pressure wash as it's not working any more ?
I do agree that pressure washed and returned to the water without another coat weeds up again in no time.
