Question

So when is a question not a question - answer, when it's been deleted before we can effing well read it!!!

Come on Alpha don't be shy, ask away, amongst all the banter you will almost certainly get a few serious answers.

sorry to spoil the fun but a serious answer to a serious question
the boxes are most likley to be 1.:19 and 2.1:1
this was quite usual and the propellersshould have different pitches
to compensate
the other reason for having slightl odd ratios is to spread the gear wear

boats are not planes I once asked a pilot what speed a jumbo took of at and was told 174 knots (i think) most boat people would have said about 175 to 200

Sound like a Broom 35 European, some had perkins 145's with odd boxes and props to match as to make them contrarotating borgwarner could only make them with odd gears to fit in the casing, useless info but there you go.

Re: The deleted question

Alpha asked about an intended boat with twin engines, praps not spinnning at same speed or summink, and wondering if this ok since aeroplanes (that he knows about) would not do the same thing. And asked if we could guess the boat.

ahem soo I gave an answer along the lines of the momentum of aeroplane props being much greater than that of little props, and also boat props were smaller and geared down hence not such great affect so not danger of boat flipping over like praps a plane, and ah also guessed that intended boat was on page 68 of Boats and Planes for sale - but I was quite nice, honest, and then he deleted the post but hey look I wasn't nasty!....

Re: The deleted question

Yes i did pull my post, felt a bit daft leaving an answer to non-question. However, pauline seems to be mostly taking the blame, so perhaps we can let her cop it, specuially seeing as she doesn't turn up evenings much? You know it makes sense...

I missed the original post. This is like those backwards quiz games where someone says, frexample, "Paddie MacNally followed by Prince Andrew" and you have to guess what the question was.

Most of them are a bit harder than that of course.
