We get varying degrees of success getting a tv picture on the boat in Portishead
We currently use a domestic type aerial temporarily sat on the Flybridge
This weekend I plan to remove the track vision satellite dome and replace with a permanent TV aerial installation, anyone have any recommendations on something that will work in this poor signal area?

Hi Ian, We have a directional caravan aerial with a signal booster which works well in most places. When we come across to Portishead it very much depends on which berth they allocate us. Normally they put us on 'B' hammerhead and we always manage to get a good signal. The last time we bumped into you we were on 'H' leg and we struggled to get a signal that worked on all channels. I'm guessing this is due to the amount of buildings around the marina ???

I guess I'd better stick to my "lash up" then, at least I get a good signal but would rather have something more permanent

I use a moonraker dtv1000, its worked everywhere i have been in the last 4 years inc portishead.. really impressed with it.
Bout 45 notes in maplins

Our reception was rubbish at Portishead Iain. Pretty good everywhere else. I put it down to the surrounding high rise blocks. Andrew on His Azi Volante uses a Sat receiver with some success. Have a look at Maplins, as the supply at a reasonable cost.
