I have just bought a DVB-T USB Free-to-Air Stick and want to use it on the boat to receive TV on my laptop. The provided aerial is c**p. I can only get the channels when connected to my roof aerial. Can anyone recommend a portable or fixed aerial I can use on the yacht?

From experience, you need a wideband antenna as you could be moving round the coast and different regions have different television frequencies.

With the above in mind, I would recommend an Omnimax. With this specific aerial, you don't need to point it at the television transmitter mast or even need to know where it might be.

Firstly, it is wideband, secondly is does not have any sharp pointed parts which could damage soft furnishings and sailsas you move it in and out of the cabin.

Also it had a high gain amplifier which will assist you in receiving any signals in the marina. Marinas are usually quite poor reception areas and a high gain amplifier is very useful feature.

Also, you can Google for "caravan antenna" if the above does not suit your needs. I have used the Omnimax for years without any problems.
