Not always where I would like to be!
There's an extract from an interview with Joyon on the BBC News wesite (I think). He has expressed his surprise that Ellen has captured the record so soon, and is gracious in his praise of her achievement.

Probably too busy building a boat to be in Falmouth!

....and they even managed to give Mike Golding a spot to add his best wishes and to applaud him for his performance in the Vendee.

Surely there's enough of us to make an audience and enough going on for at least a monthly sailing show.

Please, please, please.

Did you see the freebie DVD on the front of Feb's Yachting World? That looked worth subscribing to, for a monthyl sailing 'programme' (although some of the interviews and commentaries were a bit naff).

I noticed (I think) you had one American in the Vendee but this sort of sailing doesn't appear to appeal over there or am I mistaken?

Well yes it was an unusual experience. However, my warming feelings towards the BBC were shot to shreads when they cut-off to normal programming, both on BBC1 & News24, at 12:30 before Dame Ellen had even reached the public stage. Thank god ITV came to the rescue.

SkyNews special at 20:00 tonight, ITV special at 22:00 tomorrow night, Wednesday.
