Turkish charter

It's early days yet, but I'm planning to charter a skipperless yacht from the west coast of Turkey, probably Bodrum, next April. Has anyone a company to recommend (or to warn against) based locally?

They are a good UK charter company that operate bases in the Med. I used them last year to find a boat in Croatia and had no problems.

Also strongly recommend you take Rod Heikels new (last year) pilot. I sailed 3 weeks in Turkey last year: it was an absolute dream and cheap. Watch the wind though, can get up to a 6 unexpectedly. Have fun.

Try IYC in Marmaris, They are an Austrian outfit with their main base in Marmaris and another in Croatia. Sailed with them last year and this, excellent!!

I've used Sunsail a couple of times, once from Gocek, and once a one way from Bodrum to Marmaris. Their eastern Med operation is pretty good and I had no issues with the boats. I'd recommend provisioning yourself rather than getting it preprovisioned in order to know what you're getting though!!
