Could any one who as been sailing in Turkey last season or may be there this year e mail as I would be interested in chat to you re formalities on entry and exit Turkish waters from Greece how long you can say and any problem you may have had etc .. upto dated info only please….

Chartered bareboat from Mamaris last season, spent a lot of time around the bay of Fetiye - liked it so much will leave next spring - 2 years before did the Ionian, go to greece first then you wont be disapointed with it, Turkey is far superior. will be flying out in 2 weeks to inspect marinas.

My boat lives in marmaris (Netsel Marina). Best marina I've yet seen, squeaky clean, all services, mechanical, electrical sails, u name it. Fabrication in wood, s steel, design, copy (exhaust elbows in double thickness s steel in a day or so at fraction of normal price). brilliant refit territory. Food superb, bureaucracy not too bad and cheerful with it (none of the greek cynical rip-off attitude) friendly welcoming people and stunning scenery.

Have to admit that we've dropped into Turkish anchorages en-route between Greek islands without bothering with any transit log. I assume we would be in a spot of bother if the Police had seen us.
Seems to be a right pain if you want to hop between the two countries - need to enter Turkey at certain ports, pay for a transit log, hand it back in and repeat each time you leave Turkish waters.

just spent some time there . entry and exit are not very difficult and depend on the location. Setur marinas will do it for you without any charge apart from the transit log that cost 30$ u.s. Other places may charge up to 30 euro for the service... I did entry myself in Bodrum and it took two hours, mainly because it coincided with noon break. I met many people who had both Greek and Turkish transit logs and were sailing between the two countries. If you have any more questions I'll be glad to help

mike B can you please e mail re info turkey ....are u still in turkey and have your self been back and tho to greece .. how safe is it to winter yacht there and if you know best place to leave it ..i'm leaving uk for greece on the 26th so an e mail asap would ge great
