Morning all.
I'm moving a HR40 from Malta to Ibiza next week and wondered if its worth a stop over in Tunis? Crew keen but I'm not sure if hassle factor outweighs any benefits. Apologies for double posting.
Any comments gratefully received.
cheers

Tunis itself is a bit industrial. It might be better to look at one of the yottie boat-parks and use the coastal train to go to Tunis if Carthage is the reason for going there.
Monastir, Port El Kantaoui, Yasmin Hammamet are possibles and Bizerte, North of Tunis would be the least off-route for heading West.
Look in the Livaboard forum for info on clearing in with customs.

A friend of mine made a stop over along the North African coast on the way to Spain. He told me that the hassle with the shallow channels especially in strong winds pinned him into harbour for three days.

I haven't done this myself but pass on his comments so you should check out the approach depths on the chart.

I think it was Tunis, but not sure. Anyway no harm checking the depths.
